Alpine Visiting & Lodging

Plan an Alpine NJ visit to State Line Lookout, Alpine Boat Basin, Kearney House, Palisades trails, Alpine Scout Camp and Hudson River recreation.

Essential Alpine visitor stops

State Line Lookout

One of the signature Palisades overlooks, with three viewing areas, State Line Cafe, restrooms and trail access.

Alpine Lookout

Roadside overlook on the Palisades Interstate Parkway with broad Hudson River views; facilities are limited.

Alpine Picnic Area & Boat Basin

Riverfront picnic area, marina, paddling access and a base for exploring the lower Palisades.

Kearney House

Historic riverfront house near Alpine Picnic Area interpreting the people and transportation history of the Hudson shoreline.

Alpine Scout Camp
441 Route 9W · Alpine, NJ 07620

Scouting property offering day-camp and short-term camping programs; confirm eligibility and reservations directly with the operator.

Hudson Kayaks
Alpine Boat Basin · 201-212-4565

Seasonal kayak, canoe and paddleboard rentals at the Hudson River waterfront.

Lodging

No conventional hotel was substantiated inside Alpine Borough. Alpine Scout Camp has program-specific camping/lodging facilities, but it is not a general hotel. Visitors seeking conventional lodging should use clearly outside-town options in neighboring Bergen County or New York rather than treating them as Alpine properties.

Know before you go

Parking

State Line Lookout uses year-round metered parking; Alpine Picnic Area has seasonal parking fees. Confirm current rates and payment rules.

Trail closures

Rockfall, storm damage and seasonal conditions can close trails or roads. Check Palisades advisories before arrival.

Transportation

There is no NJ TRANSIT rail station in Alpine, and riverfront park areas are not served by regular public transportation. Driving or arranged transportation is the practical choice.
